Warranty & Care

What each ColorWerks warranty covers — and how to care for your finish so it lasts. These are the same terms provided with every completed job.

Lifetime Warranty

Powder Coating

Warranty

ColorWerks’ lifetime powder coating warranty covers failure to adhere only. The warranty does not apply to damage or failure of the powder coat resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, or accident, and we do not cover damage resulting from improper installation or mounting of tires.

Our responsibility under this warranty is to renew the powder coating on any item where the coating failure was our responsibility — we’ll recoat any affected part free of charge within a reasonable period of time as determined by ColorWerks. We will not refund the purchase price, but we will gladly repair the part free of charge.

ColorWerks does not warranty powder applied over chrome plating. We do not accept responsibility when customers choose their own colors from online sources — online color and in-person color generally differ, so we recommend seeing colors in person for match and applicability. Warranty is non-transferable.

Care

  • Do not use oil- or acid-based cleaning products — they will stain your wheels.
  • Only wash wheels after they’re cool. Rinse with cool water first to help them cool faster, and always read cleaning product instructions before applying. We recommend just soapy water and high-pressure water.
  • Do not go through car washes that pull your car through tracks or have bristles or brushes — they scratch your wheels and damage your paint. We offer paint correction if you’ve made this mistake.
  • Always use clean microfiber rags (300+ GSM). Dirty rags and sponges carry particles that scratch and swirl the finish — especially gloss black.
  • Do not hit curbs, potholes, or road debris.
  • When drying gloss-black finishes, use a detail spray without ceramic properties to lubricate the surface and minimize swirling.

1-Year Warranty

Chrome Delete / Vinyl / Paint

Warranty

ColorWerks’ Chrome Delete 1-year warranty covers failure to adhere. The warranty does not apply to damage or failure of the vinyl or paint resulting from misuse, improper washing, abuse, neglect, or accident. It does not cover rock chips, which may occur over time and can be avoided by not driving too closely behind others.

Allow paint 3–5 days to cure before washing. Warranty is non-transferable.

Care

  • Wash bi-weekly to avoid excessive contamination build-up, using only recommended mild soaps.
  • Avoid high-volume brush-style car washes and high-pH detergent cleaners. Touchless car washes only — never a car wash with brushes.
  • Avoid washing in direct sunlight to minimize streaking and water spotting. Wash top-down, leaving the dirtiest sections for last, and use a separate soap and mitt for wheels.
  • Home washing: soap down with a foam gun (optimal) or microfiber wash mitt, rinse with a pressure washer or hose, and dry with clean microfiber towels. Keep any pressure washer lance at least 3 feet from the surface and away from edges to prevent lifting.
  • Spray ‘n wash self car washes: high-pressure soap, never the provided brushes, high-pressure rinse (avoid vinyl), dry with clean microfiber towels.

60-Month Warranty

Ceramic Coating

Warranty

ColorWerks’ ceramic coating warranty is valid for 60 months from the date of application for any vehicle, against loss of hydrophobicity and environmental contaminant staining. Surface rust, pitting, or discoloration is a direct result of improper maintenance and is not covered.

Full cure takes 2–3 weeks — avoid sprinklers, bird droppings, parking under shedding trees, and similar exposure during that time. Annual inspections must be carried out within 30 days before the anniversary date of the last service to maintain the warranty. Warranty is non-transferable.

Care

  • Wash bi-weekly with recommended mild soaps only. Avoid brush-style car washes and high-pH detergent cleaners — touchless car washes only, and never select the “spray wax” option.
  • Avoid washing in direct sunlight. Wash top-down, dirtiest sections last, with a separate soap and mitt for wheels.
  • Home washing: foam gun or microfiber wash mitt, rinse with pressure washer or hose, dry with clean microfiber towels.

Lifetime Warranty

Window Tint

Warranty

ColorWerks’ lifetime LLumar window tint warranty covers failure to adhere, delaminating, fading, bubbling, discoloration, and cracking. The warranty does not apply to damage of any kind other than what is listed above. Warranty is non-transferable.

Care

  • Window films take several days to fully cure. Trapped moisture can look hazy, streaky, or blotchy at first — clarity returns once it evaporates. Be extra careful with any physical contact during curing.
  • Wait a week after installation before cleaning. Then use an ammonia-free window cleaner with a soft cloth or rubber squeegee — we recommend a foam cleanser, which typically doesn’t streak.
  • Never scrape film with any type of blade or clean with anything harsh or abrasive — it will scratch the film.

Lifetime Warranty

Clear Bra / PPF

Warranty

Our PremiumShield paint protection film carries a lifetime warranty covering failure to adhere, fading, cracking, and discoloration. Warranty is non-transferable.

Care

  • Leave the film a minimum of 72 hours after installation so the adhesive can fully cure and moisture can evaporate.
  • Remove contaminants (insect debris, bird droppings, etc.) immediately — left on the film, they can stain it and eventually damage the paint underneath.
  • Wash with the twin-bucket method and a lambswool wash mitt. If using a pressure washer, keep the lance at least 3 feet from the film and away from edges to prevent lifting. Dry with a normal absorbent cloth.
  • For wax or dust on film edges, use a cotton swab dipped in 70% isopropyl alcohol and wipe away from the edge, never toward it.
  • Do not use solvent-based cleaners, insect removers, degreasers, or abrasive materials. Polishing equipment may be used at low speed with minimal force.
